Getting Started with Instagram DMs

A step-by-step guide to setting up and sending your first Instagram DM campaign.

Prerequisites

Before you start sending DMs, ensure you have:

  • A ColdDMs Pro account
  • The Chrome extension installed
  • An Instagram account (preferably aged)
  • A clear idea of who you want to target
  • 1. Optimize Your Profile

    Your profile is your landing page. Before sending a single message, make sure it looks trustworthy:

    - Profile Picture: Clear, professional, and friendly.

    - Bio: State clearly who you help and how.

    - Link: Direct to your offer or website.

    - Content: Have at least 9 posts so the account doesn't look empty.

    2. Setting Up Your Account

    1. Open the ColdDMs Pro extension while logged into Instagram.

    2. Go to the 'Accounts' tab and ensure your account is connected.

    3. If the account is new to automation, enable 'Warm-up Mode' for 7-14 days.

    4. Configure your daily limits (start low, e.g., 20-30 DMs/day).

    You need people to message. You can find leads by:

  • Followers of Competitors: People following similar accounts.
  • Hashtags: Users posting with relevant tags.
  • Likers/Commenters: Engaged users on specific posts.
  • Use the 'Scraping' tab in the extension to gather these usernames automatically.

    1. Go to the 'Campaigns' tab.

    2. Click 'New Campaign'.

    3. Name your campaign and select your lead list.

    4. Input your message templates.

    5. Set your schedule (e.g., 9 AM - 5 PM).

    6. Click 'Start Campaign'.

    6. Monitoring & Replying

    Check the 'UniBox' or 'Dashboard' to track progress.

    Reply to interested leads promptly.

    Monitor your success rates and adjust your messaging if needed.
